OCC Lip Tar Swatches and Review

For some time now I’ve been hearing nothing but good things about these lil tubes of lip color amazingness called Lip Tars made by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics.  These lip tars apply like a gloss, look like a lipstick and wear like a stain and they smell like peppermint and personally I love anything pepperminty!!!

The ingredients are Castor Oil, Hemp Oil, Peppermint Oil, Vitamin E and colorants. They are vegan and cruelty-free without any paragons which makes them way more awesome. So why do I LOVE them, well the level of pigmentation is SUPER, the way the formula applies (like butter), the long lasting wear AND the customization, yup you heard me Lip Tars are blendable so you can make your own custom color.  Can I get an amen!!!

So here are swatches of the colors that I have. Hope you’ll find them useful. Enjoy!

Sorry for the quality of the pics…I took these with my iPhone

I recently picked up the clear one which goes on over any lip product, pencil, lipstick or lip tar.  It’s very lightweight and adds the perfect touch of gloss.

The bottom line is these lippies are beyond terrific.  Some tips when using them:

  1. Make sure you use a lip liner.
  2. Always apply lip balm before applying them.
  3. Apply the product with a lip brush.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars are available online at OCCMakeup.com.  Lip Tars retail for $14.00 USD for .33 fl oz.

Have you tried Lip Tars?  What are your favorite colors?  If you haven’t tried them yet, do you think you might?

I’ve been wanting to try OCC Lip Tars for aaages… They look amazing! The only lip paint I have is by Sleek, and it’s brilliant, but I’m still lusting after these. Great post! Thanks for sharing :)

Hi about your tips..meaning even with any lip balm, the long lasting effect is still there? how about putting clear lip gloss after occ does it affect the long wear?

    • No it doesn’t affect the long wear…it actually hydrates your lips at the same time. I love these products they last forever and totally affordable.
